International Collaboration

Collaboration with Individuals

In addition to its collaboration with organizations working in the field of development, the Badi Foundation relies on a many individuals who offer their time and energy to support the Foundation’s projects and the development of China. Some of these individuals offer their times as volunteers working on Foundation projects, while others offer their services as visiting experts to institutions introduced by the Badi Foundation.

VISITING EXPERTS AND EXCHANGE
Recent highlights of the visiting expert exchange program have included:

Beijing Women College where Drs Bijan and Agnes Ghaznavis, psychologists from Switzerland with more than 30 years of clinical experience, delivered a seminar to a group of 45 kindergarten headmasters, teachers and undergraduate students on the subject of "How children learn." The seminars received positive feedback from participants.

Marital Therapy Workshops with Beijing Medical University. Drs Bijan and Agnes Ghaznavis, conducted their training workshop for 50 psychologists and counselors from 16 provinces in China. Their practical approaches were well received and the follow up to practical cases showed positive results. It is expected that they will continue working with the University on various related courses.

China Environment and Sustainable Development Reference and Research Center where the Badi Foundation exchanged views actively and participated in three seminars related to sustainable development.

INTERNS AND VOLUNTEERS
Interns and Volunteers also play an important role in the Foundation’s activities. In an effort to develop more human resources and utilize the services of volunteers effectively, the Badi Foundation has begun to design an internship program. In 2002, the Foundation was able to accept two interns in Beijing and one in Macau. These interns worked on such projects as documentation of the Environmental Action Program, audio-visual presentation for the same program, and research needed for development of course material.

Volunteers have offered their time and expertise in such areas as development and design of educational materials, fund raising, administrative support and the development of this web site. Volunteer facilitators are also an essential part of the expansion of the Social Enterprise program in China.

It is expected that from year 2003 onwards, the internship and volunteer program will be further expanded and systematized.
