1. What is the mission of the Badi Foundation?
The Badi Foundation promotes human development by setting in motion learning processes that unleash individual and institutional capabilities for the advancement of society.
2. What principles guide the Badi Foundation’s work?
a. How is the Badi Foundation staffed?
Dedicated individuals who believe in that work done in the spirit of service is the highest form of worship direct the Foundation's programs. These individuals also include pro bono volunteers.
b. How is the Badi Foundation administered?
The Badi Foundation was established under the regulations governing non-profit, charitable organizations in Macau. As such, the structure of the Foundation includes a Board of Directors (also called the Board of Curators), that meets 2 times per year and oversees the overall direction and policies of the Foundation and a Board of Administrators that assures that projects follow the guidelines established by the Board of Directors and practice the highest level of ethical standards and accountability. Membership on both the Board of Directors and the Board of Administrators is on a strictly volunteer basis. Beyond the structure provided by the two boards, the President of the Foundation manages the overall operation, and project managers manage individual projects.
c. Where is the Badi Foundation located?
The Badi Foundation has its head office in Macau and the representative office in Beijing. The Beijing office coordinates projects carried out in China.
d. How is the Badi Foundation funded?
The Badi Foundation was established in 1990 as a non-profit, non-governmental organization with an initial private endowment. In addition to the income arising from this endowment, the Foundation receives donations from individuals and organizations, and raises funds through international grant-making agencies to fund its projects and operations. The Foundation also earns income through consulting projects with international agencies. Administrative costs are kept to the minimum of less than 10% of total funds received.
e. How can I become involved in the Badi Foundation’s work?
A limited number of internships are available each year. Several volunteers also give time and expertise in drawing up training programs and the raising of funds. Please note that internships with the Badi Foundation's Beijing representative office require Chinese language proficiency.
